Azerbaijan and Russia have partnership and allied relations, and all attempts to disrupt relations between the two countries are doomed to fail, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said, Report informs.

“Relations between Azerbaijan and Russia have a long history and are enshrined in relevant documents. Accordingly, I believe that since there is a history and current international legal framework for these relations, these two factors determine the future of these relations. Of course, anything can happen in relationships, and we are experiencing this now,” Zakharova noted.

She noted that the richer the history between countries and peoples, the more acutely problematic issues are experienced, and “we are ready to resolve issues in a constructive way, as we have repeatedly reminded.”

“We know what concerns Baku. We perfectly understand that the tragedy, the plane crash (AZAL aircraft crash in late December 2024), which claimed the lives of citizens of Azerbaijan and citizens of our country, is felt very deeply both there and here,” Zakharova said.
