WhatsApp is planning to add at least two more features in the upcoming updates to make group calls more convenient and Meta AI more accessible. Both features are currently in development, and the latest peek at them reveals they will make WhatsApp a better chatting and calling app.

According to Report, which cites foreign media, the first feature will likely streamline calls with groups with a feature that will allow users to create handy links with the members. Group chat call links will work similarly to Google Meet and Microsoft Teams links, letting members of a group join a voice or video call with a single tap. Since it is an upcoming feature, it is available only to beta testers currently, but WhatsApp may soon roll it out to stable users on both Android and iOS.

According to WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.19.14 update brings support for call links that will be available inside the calls tab in the app. “It appears that WhatsApp is now committed to further improving this feature by facilitating the creation of those links within conversations,” said the report, highlighting how the new feature will focus on making group conversations easier. The tool to create the call link will be available inside the chat attachment sheet. Once a user creates a link, WhatsApp prompts them to send it to the group immediately with a tap. It is also an extension of the call links feature that has been available in the app for over two years for individual chats.
