Iran’s New President Pezeshkian Proposes Regional Cooperation Policy

In a recent publication, Iran’s newly elected President Pezeshkian outlined his administration’s foreign policy, emphasizing balanced and cooperative relations with neighboring countries.

Pezeshkian articulated an “opportunity-driven policy” that aligns with national interests, economic development, and regional stability.

Pezeshkian’s policy framework advocates for fostering stronger ties with Iran’s neighbors by prioritizing mutual progress. He stated, “We will champion the establishment of a ‘strong region’ rather than one where a single country pursues hegemony and dominance over the others.”

He further emphasized, “Neighboring and brotherly nations should not waste their valuable resources on erosive competitions, arms races, or the unwarranted containment of each other.”

The President’s vision aims to focus on collaborative development, potentially impacting Iran’s relations with countries such as Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Pezeshkian’s approach envisions creating a more stable and prosperous regional environment through constructive engagement and shared development goals.
