A parliamentary candidate from the right-wing National Rally (RN) party, which polls predict will win early elections to the French parliament, has been attacked, Report informs referring to Point.

Ten days before the first round of elections, Hervé Brey, a 68-year-old RN parliamentary candidate, was campaigning in the commune of Saint-Etienne. He distributed leaflets at a market in the Loire department.

According to reports, a group of four individuals dressed in black and wearing masks approached Brey and other RN members, threatening and pushing them. The altercation resulted in Brey, who has a pacemaker, being hospitalized with a stroke.
