On February 1, Vice-President of the German Bundestag Katrin Dagmar Goring-Eckardt arrived in Kyiv on a visit. She will be in Ukraine for several days, Report informs referring to Ukrainian media.

“Kyiv. I arrived here today by night train. Ukrainians are defending their country and our common freedom. I admire their courage. In the coming days, I would like to get an idea of the recovery, the humanitarian situation and the difficult everyday life on the spot,” she tweeted.

Goring-Eckardt said she wanted to emphasize that Ukraine “belongs to the European family,” referring to the country’s potential EU membership.
