
The right-wing opposition used financial resources from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to prepare a coup attempt against the Venezuelan government, Tarek William Saab, Attorney General of Venezuela, said in an interview with Cable a Tierra radio, Report informs.
“Venezuelan right-wing extremists who received money from USAID are under investigation for using those funds to prepare a conspiracy against the legitimate government,” Saab emphasized.
The attorney general highlighted that investigations are currently underway into corruption schemes that permitted the so-called interim government, led by self-proclaimed president Juan Guaido, to illegally use USAID funds.
