The President of Mexico Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, and his US counterpart Joe Biden discussed migration and the fight against COVID-19 during their first conversation.

Report informs citing the Twitter page of the Mexican president.

“We had a friendly and respectful conversation with President Biden. Discussed issues related to migration, COVID-19, and cooperation for development and well-being. Everything indicates that the relations will be good for the benefit of our peoples and nations,” the president tweeted.

Among his first decrees, Biden lifted restrictions imposed by his predecessor Donald Trump on migrants on the country’s southern border. The Trump administration had tightened rules for migrants’ access to the country and erected a wall along most of the border with Mexico to discourage illegal entry into the US.
