COP29 is a crucial platform for implementing climate change commitments while promoting the creation of a sustainable economy that generates green jobs, improves social welfare, and contributes to long-term stability, Zou Ciyong, deputy director general and managing director of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development at UNIDO, said on November 11 in Baku during a high-level session on innovations for climate change and sustainable development, internal development, and systemic changes within COP29, Report informs.

He hailed the steps being taken in Baku and the attention given to ensuring climate finance and promoting an ambitious agenda for the COP29 presidency and expressed UNIDO’s commitment to contributing to initiatives in energy storage, green energy, corridors, and hydrogen use by promoting sustainable industrial practices that align with the broader climate agenda.
