American authorities earlier forced Venezuelan diplomats to leave their embassy in the US and handed over its facilities to representatives of Juan Guaido, the Venezuelan opposition leader who proclaimed himself interim president in January 2019.

Local Venezuelan media outlets and politicians have taken to Twitter to report that a group of people tried to invade the country’s embassy in the Brazilian capital. The Twitter account of the Venezuelan Landless Workers’ Movement, claimed that the alleged perpetrators are linked to self-proclaimed interim president and opposition leader Juan Guaido.
