
The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Report informs via TASS.
The document was approved by 158 votes. Nine delegates voted against, with 13 abstentions.
Unlike Security Council resolutions, General Assembly documents are not legally binding.
The document was co-authored by Algeria, Bangladesh, Guinea, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and the State of Palestine.
