Ukrainians, who have endured several bloody revolutions and war, honor the memory of those who died for Azerbaijan’s freedom on January 20, Yuriy Kamelchuk, an MP from the ruling Servant of the People party of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (Parliament), told Report.
Kamelchuk noted that today Azerbaijanis commemorate those who died as a result of the Soviet troops’ attack on January 20, 1990: “The January massacre in Baku is a prime example of horrific events that should never be repeated. Both Ukraine and Azerbaijan maintain the right peaceful stance. Historically, they have always been targeted by oppressive empires against their independence,” he added.
