The trade between Azerbaijan and Zakarpatye province of Ukraine made $300,000 in 2020, and $140,000 in 2021, Zakarpatye governor Anatoliy Polosov told Report’s Eastern European bureau.

“I understand that due to the coronavirus pandemic, last year virtually bypassed us, and the business failed. But I do not doubt that we must strengthen our ties. Take, for example, SOCAR. Why not open fueling stations in Zakarpatye? We can view this process as perspective,” he said.

According to Polosov, industrial parks that are planned to be opened could be of interest to Azerbaijan.
