Kyiv is expecting Europe to toughen sanctions against Moscow after the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus and asks for more weapons for a counteroffensive, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak told the French TV channel LCI, Report informs.

According to Podolyak, Kyiv expects from Paris “a leading role, responsibility, decisiveness and making a historic choice.”

“Russia is attacking us with drones, ballistic missiles that we cannot intercept. They use aviation against us, including one that could be equipped with tactical nuclear weapons, and we can only respond if we have the same capabilities in the field of aviation. It would be very desirable if France decided to be exemplary in this regard,” he said.
