Türkiye’s new ambassador to Azerbaijan, Birol Akgun, has visited the Alley of Honor.

According to Report, the diplomat laid a wreath at the grave of the National Leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev.

The memory of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated with respect.

The ambassador then visited the Alley of Martyrs. He commemorated the heroes who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity, and laid carnations on their graves. A wreath was laid at the Eternal Flame memorial complex.

Finally, Akgun visited the Baku Turkish Martyrs’ Memorial monument.
