
Azerbaijan’s anti-terrorist measures had been effective in that the separatists surrendered right away, US journalist, national security analyst, lawyer Irina Tsukerman told Report.
“Contrary to the disinformation campaign, it is obvious that there was military personnel involved with serious weapons that had no business being there [in Karabakh] and that they had been violating the agreement for the past three years,” she noted.
“The double standards [in relation to Azerbaijan] are not surprising for several reasons. Just because Armenians have invested resources through their contacts long ago and built influence over decades, doesn’t mean that Azerbaijan cannot use whatever influence it has now to start overcoming these issues,” she noted, adding that Azerbaijan should invest even more in media campaigns.
