“ON MONDAY NIGHT I’LL BE DOING A MAJOR INTERVIEW WITH ELON MUSK — Details to follow!” Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.
Musk is yet to comment on the planned interview.
The mogul, whose public persona has become increasingly right-wing and controversial, officially endorsed Trump last month, on the same day Trump was shot at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Following Musk’s takeover of X, formerly Twitter, he reinstated Trump’s account, which was suspended by the platform’s former owners after the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol, in 2021.
At a campaign rally on Saturday, Trump appeared to drop his long-held opposition to electric vehicles because of Musk’s endorsement.
“I’m for electric cars, I have to be because Elon endorsed me very strongly,” he said.
Musk has denied reports that he is planning to funnel some of his vast fortune into Trump’s re-election campaign, claiming he won’t be “donating money to either candidate” for president.
