Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has spoken to US President Joe Biden about the increasingly troublesome border restrictions between the two, but a deal has yet to be made.

“We will continue to work closely together on moving forward in the right way but each of us always will put at the forefront the interests and the safety of our own citizens,” Trudeau said at a Sunday press conference in Britain after a G7 summit, adding that more Canadians must be vaccinated before restrictions against non-essential travel are lifted.

Travel restrictions between the US and Canada, implemented at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, have become increasingly controversial as businesses continue to open and health restrictions are lightened, with businesses complaining the ban is essentially halting the tourism industry. (RT)
