The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is gaining serious momentum and has the potential to become a major power center in the future, Talgat Kaliyev, a member of the National Kurultai under the President of Kazakhstan and political analyst, told Report.
“As President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev rightly noted, the OTS is indeed gaining very serious momentum and has the potential to become a major power center in the future. Firstly, it’s a union of countries with a combined population of over a hundred million people. Secondly, these are middle powers that have serious influence and significance in the international arena,” said Kaliyev.
The political analyst noted that the OTS has close ties with both Western countries and China.
“This includes Türkiye, which is a NATO member, Uzbekistan, which shows powerful development dynamics, and Azerbaijan, which is strategically located at the crossroads of Asia and Europe and promotes connectivity on the Eurasian continent. OTS member countries can become serious players at the regional level, considering integration projects and close cooperation with China and Europe,” emphasized the political analyst.
He also noted that these states are economically self-sufficient, have large amounts of their own energy resources and minerals.
According to the expert, these countries have well-developed domestic markets and human capital.
