Azerbaijan has already achieved tangible results in rebuilding towns destroyed during the occupation from the scratch, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev said during a ministerial round table meeting within the XI session of the World Urban Forum (WUF11) in Poland, Report informs.

He noted that this year, we mark the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s membership in the United Nations.

“This landmark event was celebrated jointly with our UN partners in the liberated city of Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, with the attainment of the SDGs and post-crises reconstruction and rehabilitation being the key topics,” Guliyev added.

“The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the New Urban Agenda, as the main globally agreed documents guiding sustainable urbanization, are of particular importance for my country. Azerbaijan ranks 55th in the 2021 Sustainable Development Report with the best result in the region.
