Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puan Maharani has arrived in Azerbaijan on a working visit to participate in the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).
Report informs, citing the Press and Public Relations Department of Milli Majlis, that during the meeting with her Indonesian counterpart, Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova emphasized the importance of the Assembly as a key parliamentary platform uniting Asian parliaments. It was noted that important issues will be discussed at the 15th plenary session in Baku.
The parties noted the role of such events in strengthening bilateral ties, as well as the positive impact of inter-parliamentary interaction on the development of relations between states. Cooperation between legislative bodies within international organizations, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union, OIC PA, and APA, was emphasized.
