The Spanish authorities will promise Ukraine a package of military assistance worth a record amount of 1.129 billion euros, according to the El Pais newspaper, Report informs referring to TASS.

On May 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during a visit to Madrid, will meet with King Philip VI, as well as with the country’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, with whom he will sign a bilateral security agreement. It includes the supply of a wide range of military equipment, including a new batch of Patriot missiles, 19 Leopard 2A4 tanks, as well as a large number of materials produced in Spain.

It is expected that some weapons may be sent to Ukraine before June 30, including missiles and tanks. Many weapons will be made by Spanish companies, so their delivery may be delayed until production is completed. It is planned that the agreement will initially last for two years, with the possibility of extension up to three years.
