The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the World Bank discussed cooperation prospects in the fields of oil and gas production, renewable energy, decarbonization and digitalization, Report informs.

The discussions were held in today’s meeting between SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and the World Bank Infrastructure Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Charles Cormier.

At the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the long-term effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank, and the importance of the strategic projects implemented in the energy sector, including the Southern Gas Corridor, was emphasized in terms of the economic development of the region and the energy security of Europe.

Within the framework of the meeting, SOCAR’s long-term goals were discussed, and in this regard, it was noted that the energy transition was defined as a priority direction. The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
