
SOCAR Marine, operating since 2013, has once again become a leader in the international supply of marine fuel with sales of 650,000 tons in 2020, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) told Report.
SOCAR Marine meets more than a quarter of the global demand for marine fuel.
In parallel with the investments of SOCAR Turkey, the largest industrial holding in Turkey, the fast-growing SOCAR Marine brand has once again become a leader in this area. SOCAR Marine, which last year increased its market share to 26 percent, provides fuel for ships passing through the Turkish straits and abroad, carrying out cargo operations in Turkish ports.
International shipments are growing
Agshin Salimov, deputy head of SOCAR Turkey’s Refinery-Petrochemical Bussiness Unit, said that the high quality of products and services played a key role in the conquer of leadership in the international supply of marine fuel by SOCAR Marine, one of the youngest players in the sector.
“Our priority in the service sector is to meet the needs of our customers at the highest level,” he said.
“Currently, along with the physical supply of fuel in the Black Sea, Sea of Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean seas of Turkey, through deliveries in all international ports – from Gibraltar to Singapore, from Rotterdam to South Africa, we are increasing the international reputation of the SOCAR Marine brand day after day,” he added.
