“In Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, we have multiple renewable energy development initiatives underway,” Guliyev noted.
He shone a light on the building of the 240 MW Shafag solar power plant, a venture cooked up in cahoots with bp and the Azerbaijan Investment Company.
The SOCAR representative also spilled the beans about plans to set the wheels in motion for production capacity using geothermal sources, primarily in the liberated territories.
“The project is planned for the liberated areas, as the infrastructure here is being built from scratch, and during its design and construction, the possibility of using geothermal resources will be taken into account,” he added.
