The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have discussed the implementation of joint projects, Report informs referring to the company.

SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf held a meeting with the Asian Development Bank’s country director for Azerbaijan, Sunniya Durrani-Jamal.

The meeting participants reviewed current and potential opportunities for cooperation between the parties. In particular, they discussed the implementation of joint projects to ensure sustainable development in the energy sector and the expansion of renewable energy sources usage.

During the conversation, information was provided about SOCAR’s decarbonization goals and projects being implemented in accordance with sustainable development objectives.

The parties exchanged views on opportunities to expand cooperation in renewable energy development, carbon dioxide emissions reduction and experience exchange to ensure sustainable development in the energy sector. Additionally, other topics of mutual interest were discussed.
