There is a need to improve the legislative framework and develop state support mechanisms to ensure sustainable and systematic development of social entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMB) under the Ministry of Economy, said at the International Women’s Forum on Social Entrepreneurship held today, Report informs.

According to him, along with fiscal incentives, providing technical support, especially expanding access to preferential financial resources, can make a significant contribution to the development of social entrepreneurship: “Raising awareness and strengthening capacity in the field of social entrepreneurship is one of the strategic directions that should be implemented by government and civil society institutions. For this purpose, informative events, trainings, media awareness campaigns, and local and international mass forums can be organized among the population and businesses about the nature and mission of social entrepreneurship.”
