The COP29 climate conference is one of the most important events where significant climate actions are taken for sustainable development and adaptation, Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), said at a high-level event on global climate action “United Leadership for Accelerating Action Towards a Climate-Resilient Future.”

According to Report, Stiell said to achieve the set goals, participation of all parties is important, including civil society, business, and governments.

He noted that through joint efforts, it is possible to achieve success, ensure the fulfillment of commitments made last year at COP28 in Dubai, and achieve real economic results.

According to him, fighting the consequences of the climate crisis requires inclusivity and a multi-level approach, as well as fair distribution of resources.

He also emphasized the importance of increasing investments in green energy transition to achieve net-zero emissions quickly.

Stiell noted that 2025 will be the most important and intensive year in the history of climate action, when countries will need maximum action and effort.
