Azerbaijan is building independent relations with each CIS member state, Russian political scientist, journalist, and public figure Maksim Shevchenko said, Report informs.

“Azerbaijan’s policy is aimed at achieving fair and equal mutual relations with everyone – the Central Asian states, the Russian Federation, its neighbors in the South Caucasus, and others,” Shevchenko noted.

According to him, Russia-Azerbaijan relations are built on a very constructive and meaningful dialogue between the heads of state. “I believe that there is also a constant dialogue between Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries. I visited the Shusha Media Forum in the summer and saw various facilities built with the support of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries in the region. This is a very serious human component of partnership and solidarity, so I have great respect for the constructive role Azerbaijan plays in building a strategy for dialogue and development among the post-Soviet states,” Shevchenko emphasized.
