The Center’s Director, Associate Professor Ulviya Huseynova, told the guests about its activities.
She noted that there has been an increased interest in learning Arabic in Azerbaijan in recent years.
She noted that the Center actively cooperates with Arabic-speaking embassies in Baku.
“Our Center has planned numerous projects. One of them is organizing free Arabic language lessons for everyone interested. We presented this initiative to various ministries and organizations in different sectors and received many positive responses. We hope this idea will bear fruit,” said Huseynova.
In a conversation with journalists, Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi emphasized that Saudi Arabia treats the Arabic language with great reverence.
“We monitor the Center’s activities in Baku and hope to expand our activities here. For these purposes, we are working closely with the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Baku,” he said.
The Saudi Arabia Center, established six years ago in Azerbaijan, is the first and only branch of the Global Academy for the Arabic Language in the world.
Furthermore, Azerbaijan is creating an Arabic language testing center for the first time this year, similar to IELTS, which will be an important step in international certification of Arabic language proficiency.
