The Latvian Interior Ministry of is preparing amendments to the law that will prohibit citizens of Russia and Belarus from carrying or storing firearms on the territory of the republic, Juris Rancans, chairman of the Saeima Defense Committee, told BNS, Report informs referring to Interfax.

He assured that his commission would be ready to consider the draft law as soon as possible and send it to the Saeima for further approval.

He reminded the statements of the State Security Service about the alleged risks in issuing permits to carry weapons to citizens of Russia and Belarus in Latvia.
