Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has spoken out against the tightening of entry regulations for labor migrants from Central Asian countries, particularly the South Caucasus, and other former Soviet republics. In a government hour session at the State Duma, Russia’s lower house of parliament, Lavrov emphasized that such measures do not align with Russia’s long-term interests.
Report informs via Russian media that while acknowledging the importance of maintaining order and control, Lavrov firmly opposed the introduction of a visa regime for these migrant workers.
