The floor leader of the ruling People Power Party, Kweon Seong-dong, on Tuesday, stressed the need for an amendment to South Korea’s Constitution, mainly expected to decentralize the presidential and parliamentary power, and called for an extra budget to boost the economy, Report informs via Yonhap.

“I am convinced that constitutional reform is the fundamental solution to the ongoing political crisis,” Kweon Seong-dong said in his parliamentary speech. “It is time we consider a system that both decentralizes the excessive power of an imperial president and limits the power of an imperial parliament.”
