The main reasons for the decision to stop the activity of the Baku French Lyceum (BFL) are that the number of students during its 10-year operation is significantly lower than the number envisaged in the action plan, difficulties arose in maintenance costs, as well as the fact that the activity is not economically efficient, BFL told Report.

According to the information, the school intended for 320 students has not reached the target set by the founder (the Azerbaijan International Education Center Public Union (IEC)) over the years. It has not been able to exceed 200 students (60%), which in turn has seriously affected the profitability of the school, and the founder has used its budget to fund the activities of BFL every year and had to cover additional costs for its continuation.
