Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed new deputies to the Minister of Defense, according to a signed order by the head of state.

Leonid Gorny has been named the first deputy minister of defense, while Anna Chivileva and Pavel Fradkov have been appointed as deputy ministers.

In a previous order, Nikolay Pankov, Ruslan Chalikov, Tatyana Shevtsova, and Pavel Popov were relieved of their duties as Deputy Defense Ministers.

Notably, Anna Chivileva is the daughter of Yevgeny Putin, Putin’s half-brother who recently passed away.

This new appointment brings the total number of deputy ministers to 12, up from the previous 11.
