According to a statement from the Presidential Press Service, the phone conversation took place in a sincere and friendly atmosphere, during which the presidents exchanged views on the future development of interstate relations.
Vladimir Putin invited the Azerbaijani head of state to the ceremonial events in Moscow marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the invitation.
