Azerbaijan and Georgia make an important contribution to Europe’s energy security, and the jointly implemented Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan oil pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, as well as the Southern Gas Corridor are considered strategic projects in this regard, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov told the Fourth International Silk Road Forum held in Tbilisi, Report informs.
He said that the Southern Gas Corridor made it possible to directly transport Azerbaijani gas to Europe: “A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Azerbaijan and the European Commission in July of last year, and according to the document, the volume of natural gas supply from Azerbaijan will be doubled by 2027.”
