President: Instructions were given to restore railway to Nakhchivan – VIDEO

Azerbaijan 25/11/2020 13:26
Share Whatsapp Telegram Twitter Facebook A+ A-

“For our part, we will build and create. We will revive these cities and districts. We have major plans for the restoration of these lands. These plans and infrastructure projects are already being implemented,” President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in his address to the nation.

“The construction of a new road to Shusha has already begun. In Soviet times, there was one way to Shusha – from Aghdam to Khankandi and from there to Shusha. We are now building a new road from Fuzuli district. It will pass through a part of the Khojavand district. I have ordered to do this as soon as possible. However, this is a huge task, there was no road before, and a new one is being built through forests. There are ravines, hills, and difficult terrain, but we will do it. We will restore the railways. In particular, preliminary instructions have already been given to restore the railway to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. We have already taken tangible steps to restore the Barda-Aghdam railway. This road is a must for the Aghdam restoration and comfort of people who will live there in the future. All this work will be carried out in a planned manner, and the Azerbaijan people will be regularly updated about the work to be done. We must do all the work in a planned manner. I want to say again: first of all, all the damage will be calculated with international experts’ participation. Then lawsuits will be filed. Then comes the reconstruction of our cities and villages based on master plans. The necessary measures related to agriculture, other infrastructure projects, water, and electricity will be taken. Then come the roads. When we drove the enemy out of Shusha, it destroyed the water line feeding the city. There is no water in Shusha now. It is what the enemy is like,” the head of state added.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday received the first dose of Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine at Ankara City Hospital in Turkey’s capital Ankara.

Turkey began administering the shots developed by China’s Sinovac to health workers on Thursday, as it rolls out a nationwide vaccination programme against the disease that has killed more than 23,000 people in the country. It has so far vaccinated more than 200,000 health workers.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca and members of the ministry’s Coronavirus Scientific Advisory Board were the first to get shots late Wednesday. In the early hours of Thursday, mass vaccination started for thousands of health care workers across the country.

The country’s Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TITCK) on Wednesday approved the emergency use of the vaccine. The approval came after a 14-day testing period, which began when the first shipment of the vaccine, containing 3 million doses, arrived in the country on Dec. 30.

Last month, Turkish researchers said CoronaVac showed a 91.25% efficacy based on an interim analysis of 29 cases. A fuller analysis can take place when they reach 40 cases.

The vaccine will be administered by the Health Ministry’s COVID-19 vaccine application units, which will be established in family health centers, as well as in private and university hospitals, according to the Health Services Directorate.

Protesting supporters of President Donald Trump breached the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday.

‘Attack on democracy’: European leaders express shock at storming of US Capitol

There was confusion in the House chamber as the Capitol doors were locked and the debate over the electoral count was suspended.

A representative from the Capitol police spoke from a lectern on the dais and told lawmakers to remain calm, and that more information would be available soon.

The protesters stormed the Capitol shortly after Trump addressed thousands of his supporters, riling up the crowd with his baseless claims of election fraud.

Protesters could be seen marching through the Capitol’s stately Statuary Hall shouting and waving Trump banners and American flags.

Some House lawmakers tweeted they were sheltering in place in their offices.

Police regained control a few hours later and Trump accepted that his term in office was coming to a close, while still maintaining claims of electoral fraud.
