President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Costa Rica Manuel González Sanz on November 29.

The Costa Rican minister noted that the relations between the two countries are based on mutual trust. Referring to the opening of Costa Rica’s Embassy in Azerbaijan, Manuel González Sanz said that his country’s decision to open an embassy in Azerbaijan is of strategic nature.

The minister stressed that Costa Rica sees Azerbaijan as its main partner in the region and is determined to establish regional cooperation through this country.

In his turn, President Ilham Aliyev said that there sincere friendship between the two countries.

The head of state emphasized the importance of the opening of Costa Rica’s Embassy in Azerbaijan, expressing hope that the activities of the diplomatic mission will contribute to expanding bilateral ties and developing regional relations.

During the meeting, the sides underlined the existence of sufficient opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in mutual investments, trade and agriculture spheres.
