President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has sent a letter of condolences to Cardinal Kevin Farrell, the Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, following the death of Pope Francis.

The information was released by the Azerbaijani president’s press service. 

Pope Francis, history’s first Latin American pontiff who charmed the world with his humble style and concern for the poor but alienated conservatives with critiques of capitalism and climate change, died on Monday aged 88.
