President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is addressing the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year.
A tree-planting campaign was held in Baku in honor of the 99th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, Report informs.
The event, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with the support of the Zira Cultural Center and Eco-Park, the Ministry of Education, the Khazar District Executive Authority, and Azerenergy OJSC, was held at secondary school No. 120 named after. N. Yagubova.

Note, the idea of conducting the international conference “South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation”, which started in Shusha on 28 April and continues in Baku today, was put forward at the international conference “New Vision for the South Caucasus: Post-Conflict Development and Cooperation” held at ADA University with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev on 13 April last year (https://president.az/en/articles/view/51088). It was at that conference that the participants proposed to hold an international conference in Karabakh, and President Ilham Aliyev welcomed this proposal.
The fact that Shusha has become the main venue of events held under the auspices of UN and other influential organizations and turned into the diplomatic capital of the region also means a failure of the ugly campaigns to promote this ancient Azerbaijani city as an Armenian one through many years of false information.
It is no coincidence that participants of the international conference held panel discussions on “Shusha – the path to revival” on reconstruction work in Shusha and “Cooperation, opportunities and challenges” on the post-conflict period in Shusha on 28 April. This important platform provides an opportunity for foreign experts to discuss the peace agenda laid out by Azerbaijan for the development of relations between countries of the South Caucasus in the post-conflict period, the possibility of opening communications, the normalization of relations with Armenia as a basis for progress, security and prosperity.

In accordance with the training plan for 2022, the Land Forces held competitions for the title of the best SPG-9 and AGS-17 (AGS-30) grenade launcher personnel.

In order to ensure exemplary service of the military personnel in harsh climatic conditions, in territories with difficult terrain, to maintain combat capability and a state of combat readiness at a high level, all necessary measures are being implemented. Report’s employee visited the tanker-museum “Surakhani,” examined the halls, got acquainted with the exhibits.
Museum visitors are provided with the first unique 360-degree screen in Azerbaijan with detailed information about both the history of Azerbaijan and navigation.
Museum guide Leyla Bagirova told Report that most of the visitors to the tanker museum are schoolchildren and students: “There are also enough tourists among the visitors. They also take pictures here and leave with pleasant impressions.”
Entrance to the museum costs 5 manats, the fee for a group of 8-10 people is 3 manats per person, while schoolchildren and students will have to pay 2 manats. For families of martyrs and participants in the Second Karabakh War, admission to the museum is free.
On March 1 last year, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the world’s first tanker museum Surakhani, which combines the past, present and future of navigation with ancient history.
It is no coincidence that the Surakhani tanker was chosen for the museum’s creation. This vessel was one of the largest and most modern tankers of its time. Sailing in the Caspian Sea, the Surakhani ship played a big role in the history of Azerbaijan’s oil transportation by sea, which began with the world’s first tanker “Zoroaster.” The tanker “Surakhani” with a length of 123.5 meters and a deadweight of 4,696 tons belongs to the type of vessels “Engineer A. Pustoshkin,” launched for the first time in the Caspian Sea in 1957. The decision to turn the Surakhani tanker, which until recently was used as an oil refinery of the shipping company, into a museum was made in 2017.
To turn the tanker into a museum, the ship was overhauled and reconstructed. For this purpose, the personnel and technical resources of the Bibi-Heybat ASCO Shipyard and Khazar LLC were mobilized. More than 2,000 ship repairmen were involved in the repair and reconstruction of the hull and other parts of the ship.
When creating the museum, the experience of such countries as the UK, the Netherlands and Turkey, which have ancient shipping traditions, was used. In order for the museum ship to meet international standards, cooperation was established with more than 100 influential foreign and local companies.
The concept and design of the project was presented by the British company FreemanXP. Having implemented many successful projects, the company has 90 years of experience in this field. The project was developed by the Dutch company Hypsos, which is distinguished by its professionalism in the design of world-famous museums, scientific centers and pavilions of various subjects.

A consortium, including Azerbaijan’s AzVirt, is building a new bridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The bridge, called Pochitel, is being built along corridor 5c, the largest infrastructure project in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s history, Report says.
Jeyhun Safarov, the spokesman for AzVirt, told Report that the bridge is the largest project among surface artificial structures in terms of the length of the crossings and the height of the piers.
Pochitel differs from classical bridges in terms of engineering, where a balanced cantilever method is being used in the construction. This bridge, which has a complex and variable cross-section, can be called the most important surface artificial structure ever built in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Four of the bridge’s foundations are built on piles at a depth of 25-30 meters. Four columns have been erected, the last two of which rise on different banks of the Neretva (also Narenta) River. Despite any difficulties, the process continues successfully.
The total length of the bridge is about a kilometer, and the crossings reach about 150 meters. The height of the supports is about 100 meters. For example, the highest is 97 meters, some are 92 meters, and the smallest is 66 meters. The width of the bridge will be 22 meters. Due to the length of the crossings, the construction of this project uses the method of concrete-reinforced construction, which must be rotated horizontally and vertically using the balanced cantilever method.
The construction of the Pochitel Bridge in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina is being carried out with the participation of AzVirt LLC together with consortium partners – Chinese companies Powerchina Roadbridge Group Co., Ltd and Sinohydro Corporation Limited. The construction is expected to be completed in 2023.
