Armenian’s non-constructive position is the main obstacle to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said Tuesday during a press conference following the 8th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Baku.

The head of state stressed that the conflicting and self-denying statements are a big blow to the negotiation process.

“They say that Nagorno-Karabakh belongs to Armenia, then they say that Nagorno-Karabakh is an independent state. It turns out that they themselves do not know what Nagorno-Karabakh is. If they don’t know, then we can say. Nagorno-Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan. This we say, the whole world says it. All countries recognize and support Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. No country recognizes an illegal entity created in Nagorno-Karabakh. The conflict must be resolved within Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of our borders,” President Aliyev added.
