A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 has rocked Japan’s southwestern region near the island of Kyushu, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning.

According to Report, which cites the Japan Meteorological Agency, the tremor’s epicenter was located off the coast of Miyazaki Prefecture, with its focus lying at a depth of 30 kilometers beneath the ocean floor.
