The Polish authorities oppose the massive influx of migrants from African and Middle Eastern countries into the EU, emphasizing the need to strengthen borders, including in the south of the EU. Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press conference on June 9, Report informs referring to TASS.

“We stand for strengthening the borders, including the southern border, for containing large migration masses, as we did on the eastern border,” the Polish prime minister said.

He noted that the topic of migration will be discussed at the next EU summit at the end of June.

“As long as the Law and Justice government (the ruling party) is in power, we will not allow the implementation of the policy of imposing on us some kind of migration quotas, quotas for refugees from Africa, the Middle East, from Arab, Muslim countries. Our position on this issue is unambiguous,” said the head of government.
