A group of passengers at St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport have been unable to depart on their flights for more than a day.
Report informs via Russian media that several Aeroflot flights bound for Volgograd, Mineralnye Vody, Murmansk, and Kaliningrad have been delayed for approximately 27 hours, with passengers confined to the sterile zone of the airport.
The reason for the prolonged delay is reportedly due to a lack of available crew members. Passengers have also been unable to retrieve their checked baggage, as it has already been unloaded from the aircraft, and there are no available staff members to retrieve it. This situation is further complicated by the fact that some passengers have checked their pets along with their luggage.
According to passenger accounts, food and water were only provided after a 14-hour wait. Young children and elderly individuals have been forced to endure the extended delay while lying on the airport floor.
