There is a labor shortage in the Armenian labor market, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a government meeting.

“We are receiving signals from the private sector that they have problems finding personnel,” he said.

In turn, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan said that the unemployment rate in the country was 14.8% in the first quarter of 2022.

“The number of the registered unemployed is 50,400,” the minister said, noting that this is 1.9% lower than the figure for the same period last year.
