According to a report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), at least 50 out of the 116 hostages still being held captive by the radical Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip could be alive. The news comes as a glimmer of hope amidst the long-standing hostage crisis in the region.

According to Report, sources have indicated that the remaining 66 individuals trapped in the enclave are believed to have tragically perished.

The WSJ has not ruled out the possibility of the death toll among the hostages rising further, given the harsh conditions of their captivity, injuries sustained, and the lack of necessary medical assistance.
