Over 4,800 private residential buildings have been affected by the recent floods in Kazakhstan, a senior officer of the Civil Defense and Military Units Committee of Kazakhstan’s Emergency Situations Ministry Erasyl Saipash said at a briefing, Report informs.

“As of now, 4,870 private residential buildings, 1,264 courtyard areas and 2,035 country houses in eight regions remain flooded. Water has been diverted from over 3,000 residential buildings and about 2,000 courtyard areas,” he said.

Since the floods began, rescuers have evacuated 107,119 people, including 38,457 children. There are 7,414 people in temporary accommodation centers, while 11,674 people returned home.
