Orban: Western Thinking Is Changing Drastically with Trump’s Rise to Power

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán emphasized that previously, anyone advocating for peace in the Ukrainian conflict was perceived as a “puppet of Putin.” However, he noted that the discourse has now shifted, and it has become clear that “war is a bad thing.”

Orbán expressed confidence that after the conclusion of the Ukrainian war Russia will be reintegrated into the global economy, the European security framework, as well as the EU’s energy and economic systems.

Earlier, Orbán stated that he would veto the extension of sanctions against Russia unless the European Commission fulfilled its commitments regarding Hungary’s energy security. He has also called for the removal of energy-related sanctions against Russia
