The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors adopted a resolution on November 17 stating that no traces of a dirty bomb were found in Ukraine, according to the agency’s official website, Report informs referring to TASS.
“[The Board of Governors] welcomes the Director General’s assessment that the Agency has found no indications of undeclared nuclear activities or materials related to the development of radiological dispersal devices (‘dirty bombs’) at three locations in Ukraine,” the statement said.
The IAEA Board of Governors also enshrined in the resolution that it called on Russia to immediately “cease all actions against and at nuclear facilities in Ukraine”. The document also expresses concern about “unacceptable pressure on and detentions of Ukrainian operating personnel at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant” and “repeated disruption of external power supply following shelling in the surrounding area.”
Russia and China voted against the resolution, while India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, South Africa, Kenya, and Namibia abstained from voting, the Russian permanent mission in Vienna ealier reported.
