The amount of damage caused to businesses in New Caledonia during the protests could reach 1 billion euros, according to the information of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of New Caledonia, David Guillén.

“Today we are approaching 1 billion euros,” he said on France Culture radio. Guillén noted that all sectors of the economy, from industry to trade, were affected, “especially car dealerships.”
